Prepare yourself: Google Search might introduce a dedicated ‘AI mode’ to compete with ChatGPT.

Google is gearing up to introduce a new “AI Mode” for its search engine, signaling a pivotal moment for the tech giant. This feature will enable users to experience an interface similar to the Gemini AI chatbot environment.

As reported by The Information, the AI Mode tab will be added alongside existing link options like “All,” “Images,” “Videos,” and “Shopping” in search results. This enhancement aims to make Google Search more intuitive and user-friendly, allowing users to “ask follow-up” questions related to the links through a chatbot text bar, according to the publication.

Earlier reports from Android Authority revealed the APK for the AI Mode feature in a beta version of the Google Search mobile app released in early December. Interestingly, screenshots from the publication show the AI Mode icon depicted as a magnifying glass with a plus sign.
